"Sahara! Sahara Come here dinner is ready." Yelled Me'gana while looking at the eastern sunset. Almost time for the freeze she thought as she watched the slowly set.
"Coming Ma!" Responded Sahara while she was playing in the woods. Sahara picked up her dolls and ran towards the house. "I'm right here ma" as she entered the door. "Where is da?"
"He's in the wash room cleaning up." Me'gana answered. "Don't bug him Sahara he has had a bad day." she quickly added.
"How would you know...?" asked but as she looked at her mom she noticed a bruise resting on her right cheek. "Mom he hit you!" She also said with tears coming from her eyes.
"Yes dear he came home wasted again so please be a good girl." Me'gana replied hugging her daughter. Sadly that she couldn't leave her husband but he was providing for her and Sahara. This heart warming moment was interrupted as the father coming out of the room with his face still wet from the water. His big arms a dark brown from being out in the sun all his life. He went over to the table and was ready to sit down when he said, "What are you women jabbering about? Where is dinner?"
"Nothing dear and here is dinner." Me'gana replied quickly as she put a plate on the table. It was a piece of meat that was a few days old, but it was all they could afford with the money he had given her. She went to the cupboard to get a few pieces of bread for him.
"What is the slop you bitch? Are you trying to kill me? I wouldn't feed this to the dog." He got up and shoved the food at Me'gana. to the surprise of all even Me'gana she replied, "then you should enjoy this. You pot-bellied fat song of a slimy bastard. If you used the money you spend on ale instead of decent food we could have something better to eat. You instead blow it on..." The father would not listen to that. He stood up quickly and grabbed Me'gana by the neck and threw her against the wall. A sickin thud and a loud "Crack" was heard as she slumped like a rag doll to the floor.
Sahara cried out as she saw her mom fall to the floor. For both people in the room it was clear that she was dead. She felt this thing in the back of her mind and she took a hold of it. Her father felt himself get picked up from the ground and Sahara threw him against the wall over and over again. As her father was being casually tossed into the wall by a unseen force he heard a scream fill the room. After a moment the realization that it was both his and her screaming in pain as his body was broken against the stone wall. Darkness closed in on both Sahara and her father. She collapsed on the floor as weariness overtook her. The father fell to the floor long dead from the beating.
It was the next morning she woke up. Her body had been aged by a few years from what she had done. A terrible price she had paid for losing control. Now alone in the world. She knew she could not stay here anymore so she gathered up a few items. Even a lock of her mother's hair. She then started the house on fire. Now there was no turning back as she headed out east into the world.
A few miles away from Silverleaf a small community of psionics had gathered. They were had gathered that morning to discuss the psionic wave that they all had felt. Even the weakest of the order had heard the calling. Someone with immense potential had discovered their power in the most horrible way possible.
